03/10/2010 AT 03:25 AM. by Kevin Shaw, Gaithersburg, MD.

Tuesday continued the trend of sun and warmer temps, well up
into the 60s (64.1) for the warmest day of the year so far,
topping the old mark of 62 back on January 25.  Clouds started
to increase on Tuesday afternoon, only high type that didn't block
the sun's rays, but a harbinger for the moisture coming in later
this week. Also noticed a jet contrail this afternoon that was
quite long- more moisture in the upper atmosphere where those
high clouds were so the contrail's vapor trail didn't "dry out".
Rain showers start late Wednesday, and look to continue well
into the weekend. Should remain mild, and flooding, esp in the
mtns to my west where I just visited last weekend and where
there still is a big snowpack with lots of water locked up into
it.  I heard today that Great Falls, a local spot on the Potomac
River, is really raging right now with all the mountain snow melt.
Would like to get down there sometime soon and check it out, if
I could ever break free from all the stuff I am trying to get
done.

I hope many of you have been able to check out my CWOP
data - running successfully now for several days. Link below.
